Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) Unveils New Compliance Training Series

Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) July 06, 2012

Radiology practices and all covered entities whose employees work with Protected Health Information (PHI) are required by law to provide each staff member with one hour of annual compliance training. RBMA has created an easy solution for employee training and documenting with the RBMA Compliance Training Series.

Three 20-minute online modules, presented by Lori Shore, BS, CPC, RCC, allow staff to obtain the necessary training at a convenient time, without interruption of normal workflow or the expense of holding a group training session. Each module includes a test of the required information and those who pass all three receive a certificate of completion.

The Compliance Training Series is accessible on demand and includes the following:

Module 1: Introduction to Healthcare Compliance: This module covers the seven elements of an effective compliance plan as well as the best way to start a compliance plan in your office.

Module 2: Introduction to HIPAA Privacy: This module covers what is considered protected health information {PHI}, who is covered by HIPAA privacy laws, and what you are allowed to disclose.

Module 3: Introduction to HIPAA Security: This module covers administrative safeguards, physical security and technical security issues and how to handle breeches.

The presenter, Lori Shore, BS, CPC, RCC, is the vice president of coding and compliance for Medical Billing and Management Services (MBMS), where she has worked for the past 23 years. In her current role she oversees all aspects of auditing and monitoring. She is a graduate of a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Behavior and Development. Ms. Shore began working in health care in 1979 doing billing for a radiology practice.

The cost to purchase all three modules is based on the number of employees from a practice who need to complete the training. The base product will cover up to10 employees with additional tiers available at a discounted per person rate increase.

The RBMA Compliance Training Series is sponsored by IMAGINE Software, a technology company that provides cutting edge technology and workflow solutions to medical billing offices, practices and hospitals to help improve efficiency and build value.
